The Common Core aims to prepare all students for college and career readiness, and as 21st Century Learners, students who will think critically and at deeper levels, and collaborate with others to become resourceful, responsible, and engaged world citizens. Valley View Mustangs will “Make a Better World!”

School Traffic

School safety is everyone’s duty and responsibility. Help keep all children and adults safe at and around our school. Remember to:

  1. Be patient and drive slowly (5 MPH). Plan to leave home a few minutes early.

  2. Do Not Park and leave your vehicle unattended in the student drop-off and pick-up zones. If

necessary, please park in the general parking lot in front of the school. The back lot is reserved

for school staff only. Do not enter the back lot to drop off or pick up students.

  3. Parents are encouraged to drop off and pick-up students at the white curb to the right marked by

the red “Drop Off and Pick-Up Zone” signs.

  4. Please keep moving forward through the loop and pull over to an open spot on the curb to drop-

off and pick-up students. Do not drop off students from the middle or inside lanes!

  5. Remind your walking and biking students to cross only in the crosswalks and to always look both

    ways before crossing.

  6. Remember SAFETY FIRST!! Be courteous. Be a good role model for your child.

  7. The gates at Mavis Street will be closed and locked daily at 8:15 a.m. (9:15 a.m. on Wednesdays)

and will not be opened until 2:50 p.m.

Thank you for your cooperation and please drive safely!

As always, we welcome all parents to stay involved as partners in the education of our students. Many opportunities exist for parent involvement throughout our wonderful school. Please check with your child’s teacher, our office staff, or with the Valley View PTA (go http://www.vvespta.org/) for information on how to stay involved in your child’s education.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all families new to Valley View and welcome back all of our continuing students and families. I look forward to working collaboratively with the school staff, the PTA, and the entire Valley View community in providing a quality education for all our students.
