Vice Principal's Message

Dear Valley View Elementary Community,

I am incredibly honored to continue serving as the Vice Principal of Valley View Elementary for the 2026–2027 school year. I look forward to working alongside Mr. Muniz, our staff, students, and families to support a school community where every student feels valued, every staff member feels supported, and every family feels connected and involved.

This past year has deepened my appreciation for what makes Valley View such a special place. I have been continually inspired by the joy, curiosity, and resilience of our students, as well as the many ways our community comes together. Whether it was the energy of our monthly spirit assemblies, the pride students showed during the Fun Run, or the creativity and excitement of the STEAM Fair, Reflections Art, and the talent show, each experience reflected a community committed to belonging, excellence, and a lifelong love of learning.

I especially enjoyed seeing students light up when they received a Caught-Ya, cheering one another on during PE games, and engaging with peers during school-wide events such as the Fall Festival or Pulga (Flea Market) Days. These moments continue to remind me that Valley View is a place where students are not only developing academically, but also growing as resilient, empathetic, and culturally competent critical thinkers who support one another and make a positive impact on their community.

As a servant leader, I remain committed to prioritizing the needs of students, staff, and families by fostering empathy, collaboration, and continuous improvement. I am especially passionate about building strong relationships, empowering educators, and helping create joyful yet academically rigorous learning environments where every student belongs, thrives, and is challenged to reach their fullest potential.

It is also deeply meaningful to serve in a bilingual setting that reflects the values of equity and diversity. Whether students are enrolled in the dual language program or not, I believe that being surrounded by linguistic and cultural diversity enriches every child’s experience and strengthens our community as a whole. Growing up, my parents chose not to teach me Spanish, fearing it might hinder my education and not knowing about the bilingual opportunities that exist today. If they had known of a school like Valley View, they would have chosen it in a heartbeat. I am now proud to use my Spanish to build meaningful connections with families and to celebrate the language that is part of my heritage.

I truly look forward to continuing to grow with and serve the students, staff, and families of Valley View Elementary.

Me siento increíblemente honrada de continuar sirviendo como subdirectora de Valley View Elementary para el año escolar 2026–2027. Espero con entusiasmo seguir trabajando junto al Sr. Muniz, nuestro personal, los estudiantes y las familias para apoyar una comunidad escolar donde cada estudiante se sienta valorado, cada miembro del personal se sienta apoyado y cada familia se sienta conectada e involucrada.

Este último año ha profundizado mi aprecio por lo que hace de Valley View un lugar tan especial. Me he sentido continuamente inspirada por la alegría, la curiosidad y la resiliencia de nuestros estudiantes, así como por las muchas formas en que nuestra comunidad se une. Ya sea la energía de nuestras asambleas mensuales de espíritu escolar, el orgullo que mostraron los estudiantes durante la carrera Fun Run, o la creatividad y entusiasmo de la Feria STEAM, Reflections de Arte y el show de talentos, cada experiencia reflejó una comunidad comprometida con la pertenencia, la excelencia y el amor por el aprendizaje a lo largo de la vida.

Disfruté especialmente ver cómo a los estudiantes se les iluminaba el rostro cuando recibían un Caught-Ya, cómo se animaban unos a otros durante los juegos de educación física y cómo participaban con sus compañeros durante eventos escolares como el Festival de Otoño o los días de Pulga (Flea Market). Estos momentos me siguen recordando que Valley View es un lugar donde los estudiantes no solo se desarrollan académicamente, sino que también crecen como pensadores críticos resilientes, empáticos y culturalmente competentes que se apoyan mutuamente y generan un impacto positivo en su comunidad.

Como líder servidora, sigo comprometida a priorizar las necesidades de los estudiantes, el personal y las familias, fomentando la empatía, la colaboración y la mejora continua. Me apasiona especialmente construir relaciones sólidas, empoderar a los educadores y ayudar a crear entornos de aprendizaje alegres pero académicamente rigurosos donde cada estudiante pertenezca, prospere y sea desafiado a alcanzar su máximo potencial.

También es profundamente significativo servir en un entorno bilingüe que refleja los valores de equidad y diversidad. Ya sea que los estudiantes estén inscritos en el programa de doble inmersión o no, creo que estar rodeados de diversidad lingüística y cultural enriquece la experiencia de cada niño y fortalece a toda nuestra comunidad. Al crecer, mis padres decidieron no enseñarme español por temor a que pudiera afectar mi educación y sin conocer las oportunidades bilingües que existen hoy. Si hubieran conocido una escuela como Valley View, la habrían elegido sin dudarlo. Hoy me enorgullece usar mi español para construir conexiones significativas con las familias y para celebrar el idioma que forma parte de mi herencia.
